Photos from our Father's Day weekend camping trip.

Our first camping trip of '08, and Gavin's first camping trip ever! I consider myself VERY lucky with him--he's so easy! It doesn't matter where we are, the kid takes his normal naps, and he's as happy as can be. Gavin went swimming for the first time; boy is he ever a little fish! We actually cut into his nap time, and because he's a very scheduled kid, nothing will stop him! He started falling asleep in the water! He's also so close to taking off (crawling) as we found out on this trip! He's up on all fours and rocking--won't be long now!

The pictures of Averie with a white bag are her building a "home" for her moths and caterpillars she caught! She loves catching critters.

We also went on a great horseback ride. Averie's absolute favorite animal in the world is, of course, the horse! We rode Flare; a brown horse with blonde hair. We rode through the river, and they even let us trot for part of the trail--Averie was grinning from ear to ear! Complaining that the trot "hurt her booty," but kept on giggling through the whole thing (we had to ride together, so the saddle was getting her!). On Saturday night, Mimi and Papa joined our campfire for dinner and drinks, and the dads all went golfing together the following day. I would have loved to go canoeing, but time just slipped away from us.
